Did you know: your internal or external drive is moving about 7200 rpm per minute. That is equal to approximately 10 km an hr or 6 miles per hour. I see all the time people touching or moving their external drives or throwing around laptops while they are on or sleeping. Most of these people also have no back up and do not know what one is. If I would say to them, “Where is your backup… the response is “what is a backup”. Please take a moment to understand the hard drive is a very delicate piece of equipment and any jolt or rough movement will result in complete hard drive failure.
